  • As the Produce Distribution Volunteer for our Food Pharmacy Program, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the distribution of produce. You will verify the quantity, quality and accuracy of our products. Additionally, you will conduct questionnaires for our patients when needed.

    • Set up: Set up Food Pharmacy Produce Distribution portion of clinic in the hallway between the preceptor room and admin office. Confirm all produce items ordered are delivered, note any missing items, check quality of produce, and ensure it is not expired

    • Distribute Produce: Greet patients when they arrive and provide them with their pre-packaged produce box. Support patients in unpacking and repacking produce in their bags or shopping carts, if needed. 

    • Clean up: Help breakdown all equipment and return to original location. Break down any remaining produce boxes and take to recycling.

    • At least 18 years of age

    • Vaccinated for Covid

    • Can provide proof of a negative TB test within the last 6 months

    • Can commit to a minimum of 6 consecutive months volunteering (two, four hour shifts per month) 

    • Can commit to in person orientation and trainings at 35 Onondaga Ave, San Francisco

    • Strong Communication skills

    • Able to physically lift at least 5 lbs 

    • Teamwork

    • Time management 

    • Organization

    • Attention to detail

    • Interpersonal skills 

  • Food Pharmacy Days 

    • Every other Saturday

      •  9:30-1pm
