  • Eligibility screening volunteers help people take the first step toward receiving healthcare. These volunteers are responsible for greeting patients, conducting eligibility screenings, scanning documents, helping the patient schedule their first appointment with the provider, and providing administrative support.

    • Greeting: Welcome patients and visitors into the clinic in a friendly & professional manner

    • Conducting Screenings: Collect required documents from the patient, determine if the patient is eligible for care financially, read through onboarding paperwork with them, answer any questions they might have, make copies of all signed documents

    • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations 

    • Communication: Answer phone calls, take detailed messages as needed, make appointment reminder calls, respond to patient inquires about the Clinic, and provide healthcare resources 

    • Office Management: Keep reception area clean and tidy, sanitize area as needed, check inventory of office supplies, maintain a calm and orderly environment 

    • At least 18 years of age

    • Vaccinated for Covid

    • Can provide proof of a negative TB test within the last 6 months

    • Can commit to a minimum of 6 consecutive months volunteering (two, four hour shifts per month) 

    • Can commit to in person orientation and trainings at 35 Onondaga Ave, San Francisco

    • Strong Communication skills

    • Ability to maintain professional etiquette during phone calls

    • Comfortability using computers including medical scheduling software

    • Comfortability using interpreting software to communicate with patients who speak other languages

    • Teamwork

    • Time management 

    • Organization

    • Attention to detail

    • Interpersonal skills 

  • Admin Days: 

    • Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays

      •  10:30am-1:30pm

      • 1:30pm-4:30pm
