  • Clinical Support volunteers assist healthcare professionals by rooming patients, taking vitals, taking chief complaint, and prepping the patient for the provider. Clinical Support volunteers work under the supervision of our Clinic Manager and other volunteer RN’s to provide compassionate care to our patients. 

    • Patient Support: Support reception volunteers by providing a welcoming atmosphere for patients helping them navigate facility and address concerns

    • Clinical Assistance: Support providers by preparing exam rooms, rooming patients, taking vitals, and getting the chief complaint from patients 

    • Medical Supplies: Assist with organization and restocking of medical supplies and equipment to ensure availability of necessary resources 

    • Administrative Duties: Aid Clinic Manager with updating patient records, scanning documents into charts, filling out referral paperwork, and helping with our prescription assistance program as needed 

    • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

    • MA/EMT/CNA/Phlebotomy license

    • At least 18 years of age

    • Vaccinated for Covid

    • Can provide proof of a negative TB test within the last 6 months

    • Can commit to a minimum of 6 consecutive months volunteering (two, four hour shifts per month) 

    • Can commit to in person orientation and trainings at 35 Onondaga Ave, San Francisco

    • Empathy: ability to provide empathetic and compassionate care to patients, addressing their needs and concerns with sensitivity

    • Passion: Strong desire to help heal the community with a deep understanding of the Clinics' mission 

    • Communication: strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members

    • Confidentiality: Understanding and adherence to HIPAA regulations

    • Teamwork: ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other staff 

    • Comfortability using computers including medical scheduling software

    • Time management 

    • Organization

    • Attention to detail

  • Clinic Days:

    • Tuesdays

      • 11:30am-4pm

      • 4pm-8:30pm

    • Thursdays

      • 9:30am-1:30pm

      • 1:30pm-6pm
