Clinic by the Bay is San Francisco's Volunteers in Medicine clinic -- the 82nd VIM clinic in the country and the first in Northern California. Clinic by the Bay is a volunteer-powered free health clinic for the working uninsured. Our patients reside in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. As part of the national network of Volunteers in Medicine clinics, we engage retired and practicing doctors, nurses, and non-medical volunteers to provide compassionate, high quality health care, free of charge.
The clinic does not rely on government funding and does not accept any insurance. Clinic by the Bay is 100% supported by private foundation, business and individual gifts, plus in-kind contributions of professional services and supplies. We are pleased to share our financial information: 990 Form for 2012 and our full financial audit for FY 2012-2013. View our FY 2012-2013 annual report to take a virtual, dynamic tour of Clinic by the Bay's impact on our patients, our volunteers and our community!
Our mission is to understand and serve, with dignity and respect, the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, we provide meaningful opportunities for volunteerism and civic engagement to provide a caring medical home to our working uninsured neighbors.
The "Culture of Caring" is the heart and soul of our clinic. We believe in the inherent worthiness and dignity of each person and are committed to kindness, respect and patience in all of our interactions. We care for the whole person, not only their illness.
